Getty Center

The Getty Centre is a triumph in collaborative architecture and design. Located above the Los Angeles cityscape in the hills of the Santa Monica mountains, the campus is home to the J. Paul Getty Museum, Getty Research Institute (GRI), the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, and the J. Paul Getty Trust. Inside the museum you can find a treasure trove of classic and contemporary art, such as paintings by Vincent van Gogh and tapestries by Peter Paul Rubens. Outside, the centre is surrounded by lush gardens and trees and has various walkways and paths. The Central Garden, designed by Robert Irwin has it’s own rivulet and over 500 different types of plants. One of the other fascinating features of the campus is its travertine stones. Imported from Bagni di Tivoli, Italy, the ancient looking blocks mix perfectly with the Mediterranean landscape and modernist design.
