Musée des Arts Décoratifs

When a group of French art collectors collaborated in 1882 to promote applied arts and develop links between industry, culture, design and production, the non-profit Institut Les Arts Décoratifs was born.

Incorporating three major sites in Paris, including the Musée Nissim de Camondo also featured on LCD, the main Musée Les Arts Decoratifs is the Parisian equivalent of London’s V&A or New York’s Cooper Hewitt. The major sites house around 350,000 works with different focuses in each location, although the Ateliers du Carousel art and craft workshops operate across all three locales.

The museum focuses on fashion and product design, and attracts everyone from experts to those with a general interest in the aesthetics of every day objects.

Our highlight has to be the Publicité area. An overwhelming selection of 100,000 historical and contemporary posters, it features 20,000 French and foreign advertising films dating from the 1930s to modern day.

Eat & Drink

Musée des Arts Décoratifs

Le Saut du Loup

The museum houses a very chic restaurant and bar, Le Saut du Loup, which offers fine dining and extraordinary views of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. A three-course meal including a beverage is available upon presentation of your museum ticket. During summer months, there are often live bands outside turning the breath-taking Tulleries Garden terrace into a great place to have a few drinks and be seen.
